As a professional cellist and composer, Kye
Marshall photographs through a musical lens of
colour, rhythm, line and form. In her images, she
explores the relationship between the visible, the
spiritual and the symbolic. She abstracts images
derived from nature and elsewhere to create
metaphors for the unconscious. For Marshall,
photography expands both inner and outer worlds,
drawing on memory and history to re-invent ways
of seeing and being in the world.
