As trauma and conflict fade into memory, we see
images that reveal the transition between a
shadowy past and a future of hope. Out of
Captivity combines the work of two artists who
found similar inspiration for illuminating this
transition. Merging Bradley’s photographs of a
once-feared prison and Johnson’s work in Belfast,
Northern Ireland, Out of Captivity is a project
that seeks to depict the crossroads between what
exists (for memory) and what is (history).
