Scenes from a Separated Life / Heroes
Tara Cooper’s Scenes from a Separated Life
features photo-based works on paper and video that
explore the physical and emotional distances that
can exist between a couple in relation to desire,
separation and “the relentlessness of internal
longings.” Parvaneh Radmard’s Heroes considers the
struggle between patriotism and the consequences
of war within a Canadian context. This large-scale
work combines personal and mass-media images with
prose by Persian poet Aref Ghazvini.
