Through Our Eyes, A Jamestown Youth Photography Project
A unique photography exhibit inspired by Toronto’s
Jamestown
neighbourhood comes to the Arts Etobicoke Gallery
Thurs, May 1 – Thurs, May 29, 2008. Through Our
Eyes: A Jamestown Youth Photography Project
features the work of young Jamestown artists who
explored their neighbourhood through the lens of
camera as a part of a three-month project
in 2006 designed in support of Toronto City
Council’s Community Safety Plan (Neighbourhood
Action) and in partnership with Red Pepper
Spectacle Arts.
Also displayed at the 2007 urbanNOISE Festival,
this exciting show arrives at Arts Etobicoke to
coincide with Toronto’s annual CONTACT photography
festival. Through Our Eyes contains poignant
images that reflect experiences, scenes and issues
related to the Jamestown neighborhood. With great
creativity and unique perspective, these young
artists allow us to get a glimpse of their
community as they see it.
