In the 50s and 60s, developers were in the process
of transforming the Salton Sea into an inland
desert Riviera. Now, after many years and many
complications, the sea lies dying. These
photographs document the remains of human presence
– dwellings, playgrounds, furniture – that litter
the towns like the fish bones that line the
water’s edge.
