True and False
- Niagara Gallery
True and False, an exhibition of emerging artists
from Ryerson University, explores issues ranging
from global conflict and the environment to
personal identity. Probing our assumptions about
camera images, these works offer intimations of
truth, while hinting at the fissures and seams
intrinsic to the photographic enterprise. Reflecting
the photograph’s duality as icon and index, this
collection partakes in the contemporary debate on
the medium’s relationships with the real and its
oscillating role within media.
