Though clearly photo-based, Alexander Alter’s work
does not
focus on the camera as the only means, but
instead, he looks
upon the print as a found object. The traditional
collage technique
of juxtaposing images from print media plays a key
role in his
approach to digital photographs. While embracing
historical
stylistic qualities, he also incorporates the
present time and place
by employing current technological tools in
practicing art.
