The Filmores Hotel
Jorge Posada is an up and coming conceptual photographer in the vein of Rodney Graham and Stan Douglas, focused on cinematic recreations of observed reality. Posada’s work focuses on preserving and celebrating the memory of a place and a community at particular moment before it inevitably changes.
This exhibition represents the debut of his latest project, the Filmores Hotel, over three years in the making involving deep research into the narratives and personalities of a place. The exhibition consists of a single 6 x 10” lightbox full of stories and multiple in-context portraits of Filmores Hotel community members.
