Aprill Cameron These Boots Were Made For Social Distancing!
- West Queen West – Various Venues
This storefront exhibition includes up to 50 idiosyncratic footwear photos, taken during the years of the pandemic. Themes of isolation, captivity, loneliness, loss of social contact and community, as well as resilience; the power of art and creativity to lift us up, even when we are under order to isolate.
There are no full body photographs in the exhibition, underlining the sense of being cut off from our former lives. These disembodied shoe soldiers on the mean streets of Toronto are ready for liftoff!
