Beautiful Ruins
- Bliss Gallery East
Mankind has long been fascinated with ruins.
They’re the backdrop of classical painting and
the destination of travel literature.
In Western culture, if progress doesn’t claim
them as heritage sites, good citizens proclaim
them as harbingers
of civilization’s end.
Often romantic, occasionally dark, but always ironic,
Ted Amsden combines the precision of a
photojournalist’s eye with sensibilities of a
post-modern poet to present an unusual view of
urban ruins.
