Lorne Fromer The Museum of Street Culture
This exhibit marks the official launch of The Museum of Street Culture, an institution devoted to the preservation of unintentional art. Culled from the streets of Toronto this collection of photographic images transforms the painted walls, peeling posters and other examples of street art to the walls of Yorkville Public Library. Through the use of extreme cropping photographer Lorne Fromer has abstracted the everyday banality of the city street into images of artistic value – crystallizing the definitions of the “found painting,” “found collage,” and other forms of unintentional artworks.
