Maya Nasiri, Aniqa Al-Basith, Ocean Durham If The Crown Fits
If the Crown Fits is a call-to-action exhibition to raise awareness about cultural identity and the rights of women, girls, and female-identified individuals through student-designed head pieces and fashion expression. Members of CTA’s ARTivism Inclusivity Movement (AIM) are collectively standing a united front, supporting Iranian women and their demands for rights and bodily autonomy through the production of this series.
Mentored by commercial and fashion photographers Saty + Pratha, students from a variety of cultural identities explored how photography can tell a story, create a mood, and be used as a political tool.
