Kohn’s father’s factory was adjacent to the Mercer Penitentiary for Women. The prison was eventually decommissioned and torn down and Lamport Stadium was built on this same place. Years later, Kohn returned to this area to open his photography studio which was also next to Lamport Stadium. On event nights, the light from the stadium spilled into his studio in a most dramatic and unusual manner.
