Stefania Aloise’s “Letters” weaves email into
layered images –
scanned from old negatives – to create deeply
evocative
stories. Presented in non-sequential order, as a
series of
standalone photos, Aloise’s larger-than-life
canvases illustrate
the closeness we share with our surroundings
and the imprints
others leave on our lives. Culled from the scattered
ambers of
past relationships, this mixed media project acts as
a series of
windows and mirrors to our collective
consciousness.
