HyperLocal
An exploration of neighbourhood as life grows sharper and more specific. Comprising photos taken at home or within a few blocks, HyperLocal seeks joy in the banal and takes pleasure in daily ritual, expressing tenderness for the Dufferin-Dundas-Dovercourt universe. Beginning as a deep dive into local streets long before lockdown, the artist set out to observe the precariousness of the city as a creative haven.
Modern living suggests we can insulate ourselves from human interdependence with a steady stream of packages and a curated feed. HyperLocal notes the way we see affects the reality we create for others.
