Michael Awad was given unique access to the
public spaces and secure areas at Pearson’s
Terminal 1 to create a site-specific work which
examines the airport as a convergence of local
conditions and international identities. Located in
the gateway thresholds between the great
hall and the departure lounges, his work can be
viewed 24/7 without travel documents. Awad
