The photographic image is a place of departure to explore memory and nostalgia. Through unique processes, each artist creates images with layers of narrative and emotion. Drawing from their conscious and unconscious minds—using water as the signifier for the emotional landscape—the layers create a relationship to memory and dreams. The relationship between figure and ground intensifies the psychological context and draws the viewer into the narrative of each piece.
