This workshop is subject to an application process. It is free to apply; successful participants will be notified by Tuesday, April 21 and invoiced for the workshop fee.

Led by William Keo, creative director of Four Eyes Éditions (Paris, France) and former Magnum Photos photographer, this workshop is for those who have completed the sequencing and editing stage of a photobook project and are looking for concrete steps and tools to produce, promote, and distribute their publication.

Topics covered in this workshop include:

— Discovering and understanding the variety of papers, materials, and binding techniques 
— Defining the typical profile of your photobook
— Understanding how the choice of materials affects your publication and budget
— Understanding and planning the stages of a publishing project
— Understanding and creating a budget for the publication
— The challenges of promoting and selling your photobook
— Understanding, negotiating, and distributing your photobook

William Keo is a Paris-based French-Cambodian photographer and the Creative Director of Four Eyes Éditions. A former photojournalist with Magnum Photos, he has covered conflicts and social issues. He regularly publishes in major international newspapers such as The New York Times and Le Monde. William was previously an art director at some of the world's leading advertising agencies (Publicis Conseil, Fred & Farid), advises numerous photographers, regularly lectures for image institutions (SPEOS, ESJ Lille) and works regularly in production and advertising.
